For the bi-weekly “Dinner and a Show” restaurant review that I write for TheatreJones.com, I had to select a restaurant that paired with WaterTower Theatre's show Guadalupe in the Guest Room. WaterTower is a short walk from where I live now in Addison, Texas, and there are, literally, hundreds of restaurants within a ten minute drive. Decisions, decisions! I consulted WaterTower's website, which lists several nearby eateries, all of which are supportive of the theatre in some way. Of those on ... continue reading...

Edoko Richardson Restaurant Review
For the bi-weekly "Dinner and a Show” restaurant review that I write for TheatreJones.com, I had to select a restaurant that paired well with the upcoming Paul Taylor Dance Company performance at the Eisemann Center in Richardson, Texas. It's a modern dance company, so I thought a contemporary, French-inspired take on sushi would match it well. Check out what we ordered and what we recommend in this Edoko Richardson Restaurant Review. Edoko Richardson Restaurant Review Edoko is located in ... continue reading...
Wildwood Garland Restaurant Review
Close to a decade ago, I enjoyed dinner several times at the Wildwood in Southlake, Texas shortly after it opened. Recently, when I had to select a restaurant to review in Garland, Texas and discovered that Wildwood had opened a second location there last year, I had to try it! And so I bring you my Wildwood Garland Restaurant Review. Check out the "Dinner and a Show" bi-weekly column at TheatreJones.com, which includes this restaurant review paired with an upcoming performing arts show in ... continue reading...
Whole30 Dinner Plan Week Three
Whole30 Dinner Plan Week Three! By week three in the Whole30 journey, most people are feeling better than they did during weeks one and two ... but they typically hit a day (or three) when they get sick of their kitchen and all the meals they've made or tried. That happened to me at week two, and I've found that mixing up my meal plan with new recipes plus some fast and easy ones helped a lot. Whole30 Dinner Plan Week Three So this week, I'm mixing it up more. You'll find one recipe that ... continue reading...
Veggie Infused Turkey Burgers
THESE are my Whole30 saviors! Packed full of so much flavor, these Veggie Infused Turkey Burgers will sweep your taste buds off their feet. The turkey burgers / patties are so versatile that I eat them for any meal (yes, even breakfast - see below). Whole30 Veggie Infused Turkey Burgers It's hard to believe, but these turkey patties are paleo, whole30, keto, gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free and soy-free. What they are NOT free of is taste! I like to make this recipe to create ... continue reading...
Spaghetti Squash Zucchini Lasagna {Paleo, Whole30}
It's always surprising to me how many "noodles" come out of one spaghetti squash. What do you do with all the leftover spaghetti squash? This recipe is my favorite option (so far): Spaghetti Squash Zucchini Lasagna. I was craving a hearty casserole during my Whole30 round, and this hit the spot! Making Spaghetti Squash Zucchini Lasagna I use leftover meat sauce from my Spaghetti Squash Spaghetti, but you can use any meat sauce (or skip the meat and make it vegan with just sauce). The ... continue reading...
Paleo Spaghetti Squash Spaghetti
Ahhh ... spaghetti squash. A large, beautiful vegetable that used to intimidate me. Until recently. I wish it hadn't taken me so long to try this beauty, because I am LOVING spaghetti squash -- especially this Paleo Spaghetti Squash Spaghetti as I am midway through eating Whole30! Can you believe this is NOT spaghetti? And that it's a delicious, satisfying vegetable? It's like art. Ok, maybe that's Whole30 eating (no sugar, no pasta ...) talking, but I DO think this is a pretty magical ... continue reading...
Whole30 Chimichurri Sauce
Chimichurri sauce is a gift from the heavens. And if you're eating Whole30, it's a nice change of pace as a "plated fat." A person can only eat so many avocados in one day (maybe? LOL!). And not every meal goes well with "dump ranch" (especially if you don't even like Ranch dressing to begin with, like me). I love this Vegan Whole30 Chimichurri Sauce on everything. It's also great as a vegetable dip, salad dressing or vegan sauce or dip for anything. If you are NOT eating Whole30, don’t ... continue reading...
Paleo Chimichurri Skillet Steak
I only eat steak on rare and special occasions. I decided that eating Whole30 was definitely one of those occasions! And nothing beats steak with fresh chimichurri sauce, so I bring you a new recipe: Paleo Chimichurri Skillet Steak! Or, perhaps I should call it steak smothered in chimichurri sauce! If you're eating Whole30, chimichurri sauce is a different and delicious "plated fat" option. If you're not eating Whole30, don't let that scare you -- it just means an uncooked healthy oil or ... continue reading...
Vegan Whole30 Tomato Basil Soup
Nothing beats a comforting cup of homemade soup, and this Vegan Whole30 Tomato Basil Soup is delicious AND easy to make. The recipe below was inspired by my experience eating Whole30 this year, which requires going 100% sugar free as part of the reset for your body. Tomato soup without a touch of sugar can taste too tart, so I used the roasted tomatoes to add the needed hint of sweetness. If you're feeding a crowd or if you and your significant other are doing Whole30 together, you ... continue reading...
Whole30 Dinner Plan Week Two
Are you eating healthy in the New Year? I’m heading into week two of Whole30. So far, so good. I'm missing that teaspoon of sugar in my morning coffee, but I'm thankful I don't have to kick sugar AND caffeine to the curb at the same time (so is anyone who crosses my path - LOL)! Below is my Whole30 Dinner Plan Week Two ideas for you, which includes recipes that are perfect for any healthy eating plan. If you missed Week One's meal ideas, check those out too. Before we get to the recipes - ... continue reading...
Best Whole30 Stuffed Mushrooms
Is anyone else eating healthier this New Year? I'm on day 4 of Whole30. Eating Whole30 can be tough (especially at first), but the rewards are great. Of course, the health reward is the main benefit, but there's another one I love: the discovery of awesome new foods and recipes! If you'll let it, eating healthy can be a delicious adventure. And these Best Whole30 Stuffed Mushrooms (which are also vegan) will prove it! I will be making (and eating) them long after my current round of Whole30 is ... continue reading...
