What’s the perfect side dish for family BBQs, picnics and holiday get-togethers? Homemade coleslaw! A lot of coleslaw, in my opinion, is full of too much mayonnaise, too much sweetness and/or, in some cases, too much vinegar. This Easy 5-Minute Coleslaw recipe, however, is my favorite because it hits the perfect balance.
This recipe is fast and easy to make thanks to a bag of pre-shredded cabbage and carrots. If you can find it, a mix that includes red cabbage is best. Both green and red cabbage are good for you, but the red has even more antioxidants (and it makes the coleslaw prettier too). If all you can find is the green cabbage and carrot mix (which is often the case for me), that works just fine for this recipe.
This coleslaw is excellent on top of a pulled pork or BBQ beef sandwich. It’s also one of my favorite things to put on top of a fish sandwich!
Of course, this homemade coleslaw is also delicious all by itself — especially after the whole mixture has had time to sit together for a while in the refrigerator.

All you need to make your own homemade coleslaw is the following. Mix it all together and … voila!

Pin it/save it and make this yummy side dish sometime! Please let me know if you do. That always makes my day!
