Candied Pecans are a delicious treat throughout the year, but they’re extra special for holiday snacks, gifts and recipes. You can buy them, of course, but they’re so delicious and easy to make at home that I’d much rather make my own. Bonus: they make the whole house smell amazing! They’re also gluten-free and dairy-free.

- Preheat oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit
- Cover a sheet pan with parchment paper
- Mix the brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in a bowl
- In a separate bowl, vigorously stir the egg white, water and vanilla extract
- Place all the pecans in the wet mixture and stir to coat them (don't let them soak, just coat them)
- Then put the pecans in the dry mixture bowl and toss thoroughly until all/almost all of the sugar mixture is used.
- Transfer all the pecans to the sheet pan (already covered with a piece of parchment paper)
- Bake in oven at 250 degrees for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes
- Bump the temperature up to 275 degrees and bake another 15 minutes (you don't need to pull the pan out and wait until it reaches 275 degrees ... the idea is just to finish at a slightly higher heat).
- Let cool and enjoy! You can enjoy them warm (but not hot) and/or let fully cool and save for snacking, gifts and/or other recipes that call for candied pecans.
