Kuhlman Cellars Hensell Rosé
First, we sampled the rosé. Of all the wine varieties available in the world, rosé is the one I typically opt for the least. It’s often a little too sweet for my preference and/or has a bite that lingers in my mouth.

2016 Kuhlman Cellars Alluvé Red
Finally, we tried the Kuhlman Cellars proprietary red blend called Alluvé.
It’s made with 28% Malbec, 24% Mourvedre, 21% Carignan, 12% Tempranillo, 10% Zinfandel and 5% Petite Sirah. Kuhlman Cellars writes of the Alluvé: “With notes of bright red fruit, bramble, anise, and thyme, this light and elegant wine is reflective of the unique Texas Terroir.”
It has also become one of Kuhlman Cellars most popular red blends — and we can taste why. We LOVED this complex, velvety wine, and we will definitely be ordering a bottle (or two) for Thanksgiving to serve with heavier side dishes plus desserts!
The Alluvé red is considered an “everyday drinking wine.” We agree, but we also think it’s a special occasion drinking wine — perfect for any holiday or other celebration.
