I’m always up for a great cup of coffee — morning, noon or night! So when I had the opportunity to order Five Sisters Coffee Co. coffee before they officially launched, I ordered two of their blends — “Smart” and “Chic.”
In case you don’t know this about me yet, I LOVE coffee. If I had to give up any beverage, other than water, coffee would be the LAST on my list! I’m also a self-professed coffee snob, and I like dark, bold roasts. So when I saw the Five Sisters Coffee Co. SMART blend, a signature French roast, that was my first choice to taste test. The CHIC espresso blend also intrigued me.
Sisters and Coffee: the Perfect Pairing!
Five Sisters Coffee Co. was created and launched this year by five true blue sisters. Scattered across the U.S., they share something (other than lineage) that binds them: a love of all things coffee. After a socially distant year of missed graduations, cross-country moves, two births, a new puppy, a wedding and an engagement, they decided to combine their unique strengths (and mutual love of a good cup ‘o joe) by creating their own specialty coffee company.
The sisters believe in delicious, quality coffee beans, and they partner with a family-owned coffee roaster that has more than 30 years of experience and embodies their shared values: connection, integrity, loyalty and trust. “SMART” Five Sisters Coffee Co. French Roast Blend
I drink my coffee black, which means that I truly taste the coffee itself, with nothing to mask it. Dark, rich, smooth, bold coffees are my favorite, and I can easily taste the difference from one roast to the next. So when I say that I LOVE a coffee, that is no light matter. And I LOVE this “Smart” French Roast blend from the Five Sisters! Smooth, rich, bold and roasty with notes of chocolate, these coffee beans are my new favorite! The coffee bags themselves give any of their coffee extra points — they’re high quality, easy to open, and easy to re-seal … which sure beats most bags out there!
I ordered the 16-ounce bag of whole bean coffee. While I admit to sometimes hitting a Keurig button for my first groggy cup of early morning coffee, I take the extra time for my second (and often third) cup by grinding fresh coffee beans and using the pour-over method.

I also tried the CHIC Five Sisters option, a signature espresso roast. If you’re in the mood for a dark roast with a hint of caramel and spice, this blend is also satisfying and delicious.
