Favorite Dairy-Free Recipes for Fall

It’s officially fall, ya’ll! I was clinging to the last days of summer and refused to pumpkin all over them, but now I’m ready to pull out my crockpot, hoodie sweatshirts, jeans, pumpkin spice and casserole dishes. In that spirit (and hoping the Texas weather will cooperate soon), I bring you a roundup of my favorite dairy-free recipes for fall.

10 Favorite Dairy-Free Recipes for Fall

These 10 favorite dairy-free recipes for fall are dishes and deserts everyone will enjoy — whether they have any kind of issue with dairy products or not. What does that mean? It means that these do not TASTE free of anything. I have some picky taste-testers in my life who eat plenty of dairy … and if they can’t tell the difference, I promise you that any picker eaters at your table won’t be able to either. That’s really helpful when you’re feeding a couple, a family or a crowd and not everyone has a dairy issue. For example – why make two pumpkin pies when you can make one that no one can tell is dairy-free?

Dairy-Free Cornbread

sweet dairy-free cornbread

This sweet dairy-free cornbread is a longtime staple in our home. My son loves it so much that I made it almost weekly as my kids grew up, to go with meals or for a snack (and he doesn’t have any issues with dairy …). If any was left, we’d slice a piece in half and toast it for breakfast the next morning.

Chicken and Shrimp Jambalaya

Chicken and Shrimp Jambalaya

This chicken and shrimp jambalaya is another favorite in our household. My version is a little on the lighter, lower-carb side as far as jambalaya recipes go, going heavier on vegetables, chicken and shrimp and lighter on rice than most, with no sausage (although you can add some if you prefer). It’s a hot, comforting, spicy bowl of all things good in this world

Last but not least, I had to include a pie in this roundup. I love pumpkin pie and could never find a recipe for a dairy-free pumpkin pie that anyone but me thought was decent. Finally, I decided to experiment until I created one that even my picky pumpkin-pie-loving-mom could not detect was dairy-free. I adore this pie … and so does my mom!
